Australia-born roller skater, dancer, and hooper Peachy Skaterr (born Demi Jenkins) seems to be having tons of fun. One of her videos popped into my Insta feed this week, and I couldn’t get her joy out of my head. She makes me want to skate again (which I’m definitely not up to quite yet…). But come spring when I’m fully healed, look out world! (Literally. Look out. I’m a terrible skater.)

I loved skating but mine was the sidewalk kind with clip-ons and a key..Good Ole days.

I had those, too. When I got to high school, all the teens got proper roller skates so we could go to the roller disco every weekend. Oh how I loved that place!

I loved roller skating when I was young. I skated everywhere and was really pretty skillful. However, I looked like a drunken bambi in comparison to the moves Peachy has, from that amazing split in the first video to the incredible spin in the last video.

She’s definitely way more skilled than I ever was, but I confess to feeling pretty fabulous in the roller disco. I’m sure if I saw video of my “dancing,” I’d look like I had been dropped repeatedly on my head as a child.
