I am a huge believer in hand fans. My collection got me through peri-menopause and menopause with panache and a slight breeze. Plus, I can never resist a good fashion accessory. So when the glorious, handmade epoxy fans created by the maker who calls herself Mad Mad Raven popped into my feed, I was powerless against their charms. All that saved me is that the artist isn’t currently shipping to the U.S. Hailing from Ljubljana, Slovenia, the artist, Raven, designs the interlocking panels of each fan in a computer, then 3D prints the frame and meticulously fills each empty space with brilliantly-colored resins. The resulting hand fans are so glamorous-looking they could pass as antique plique-a-jour work!
You can see all of Mad Mad Raven’s yummy works on Instagram, TikTok, and in their Etsy shop.

Ooooh! Those are all fabulous. A fan helped me survive our hot and steamy summer. My Scottish skin has never been great with high humidity (I lobster so badly) but, as I shift out of perimenopause and closer to actual menopause, my body’s temperature controls have gone even wonkier. It is amazing how much of a difference a simple fan can make.

I should send you some. I honestly have a LOT. lol. For a while there, whenever a package would arrive for me, Beloved would ask, “fan or reading glasses?” (The other item of which I have way too many…)
