While it was very common in my mother’s day and before, it is unusual these days for young people to go into millinery work as a career. That, however, didn’t stop talented Aussie hat designer Jill Humphries. The young woman has “risen to prominence as one of the most sought-after full-time milliners in Australia.” When you take a look at her work, it’s no mystery that her designs have so taken off. I think my mother would have been thrilled to wear these beauties in any decade, but they definitely have a modern twist paired with a delightfully-retro vibe. I want to go to her shop and try on EVERYTHING (with my mother).
