Classically-trained Serbian painter Jel Ena has at least two (artist) personalities that I can detect. One of them paints wonderful, moody (and sometimes creepy) portraits of women. I like those just fine, and her technique is wonderful. But her other persona goes by the name of Mister Jellyfish and creates the most, MOST marvelous cat paintings I’ve ever seen. I think about half of them were commissioned (we cat people are an obsessed bunch), but wherever she gets her inspiration, each feline subject is interpreted in their best light. I’d rather show you than tell you, so please feast your eyes on these amazing paintings!

Completely charming! I too am a sucker for cat portraits. If you put a cat in it, I am going to be drawn to it. Do you think cats train us to be like this, like little fuzzy cult leaders?

I always assumed they had a master plan. Except for our dear departed Henry. He was a giant (36 lb) Maine Coon with relatively short hair and a shorter attention span. He may have been tabby on the outside, but the inside was all orange. He was definitely not in on the Master Plan.

I am quite enchanted by these paintings. I flipped through her (cat) Insta and see that she paints dogs as well, perhaps on commission.

I think most of her animal portraits are by commission. I am tempted.
