Congratulate me! It is my 100th consecutive day of posting on the My OBT blog. Yesterday, someone who knows me pretty well but doesn’t see me often asked, “What’s different about you? You seem better.” Without thinking, I said, “I have a blog.” When I said it, I realized it was, in fact, the thing different about me. I’m happier. I still have stress, but I’m more able to deal with it. I feel better about myself. Having something creative to feel good about again has made me a better version of me. Holy crap, it worked!
I’m not typically one to toot my own horn, but I’m nonetheless quite pleased with my blog. Even when things aren’t going my way, my daily post has come to be one of the things I know I can count on to make a blah day better. It’s been a great experience, and now that it’s become a habit, I have no intention of stopping.
A big, warm, sloppy, happy thank you to my subscribers and readers, and to the friends and family who support me in every crazy thing I do!
Since it’s our anniversary, I wanted to find something on the theme of 100. When I searched for “100,” the first thing that came up was a project by photographer Anastasia Pottinger, who was approached by a 101-year-old woman who wanted to be photographed in the nude – anonymously. The results of that shoot inspired her to do a photo study of centenarians. They are absolutely lovely and are some of the most graceful and respectful nudes I’ve ever seen. She’s always looking for more subjects, so if you know of a willing model (age 100 or above), you can contact her on her website.

My search also turned up something called “100 Happy Days,” an idea which went viral last month and which reminds me of the pictorial version of One Beautiful Thing! The idea is that for 100 consecutive days, you post a picture of whatever made you happy that day. Sound familiar? You share your pictures on either Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the hashtag #100happydays so people can find them. If you complete the challenge, you can request a “little book” of your 100 pictures. Sounds like fun, doesn’t it?

You’re posts continually make me smile (and I’m still discovering them), and I wanted to let you know that this one did too. There’s something so warm and welcoming about your blog, which I don’t find on [some] other blogs. I always feel welcome to come and read. I don’t feel like I’m intruding on a private party. (I feel like that when I got to the hairdressers – hence the reason I barely go now).
I love your blog. Many congratulations on reaching 100. ~ Cobs. x

Thanks, Cobs! That’s very kind. You’re one of the people I had in mind when I wrote my thank you message yesterday.
