What is it about a girl in a fedora?
(Music has emerged as the surprise themes this week. Go figure.)
Meet Genevieve Chadwick, an extraordinary singer/songwriter from Sydney, Australia. Her songs are beautiful, and there’s something about the tone of her voice that really speaks to me. Oh, and she’s rocking that fedora. I’d love to hear her do a duet with Jack White. (I initially wrote Jack Black instead of Jack White, and my mistake cracked me up for a good minute.)
There’s nothing I can say about her that her music won’t say 1000 times better, so I’ll leave her to it. (Also, I got home from work after midnight, and I’m a little stupid today.)
If that’s not enough for you, here’s a Neil Young cover, which she sings with the talented-but-terribly-coiffed Faye Blais. If the white-lady dreadlocks distress you as much as they do me, I recommend you turn the sound up and shut your eyes.

She puts me in mind of John Fogerty, which I mean as a huge compliment as I have been a hard-core CCR fan since forever. I will look for more from her for sure.
