What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Hot Glass

Master glassmaker and artist Graham Muir has been using and teaching hot glass methods since the eighties. You don’t have to be an art major to immediately see that his work is all about balance. His combination of colors, and his graceful shapes and use of negative space produce (in me, at least) a profound sense of peace and harmony I don’t think I’ve ever before encountered.

I first spotted the scent bottle above on one of my many hunts for glass artists, and I was completely floored by how much it stuck with me. I think this is one of the artists whose work I may actually try to acquire rather than just admiring from afar.

Incredible! I would have each and every one of these in my house – especially the wave ones.

I love photographing glass objects with the light behind them and the colors “floating” in their own private space. Some great pieces here. Peaceful, indeed. Thank you.
