Russia native Salavat Fidai does magical things with pencils.

The son of two artists, he nonetheless decided to pursue a career in law. However, when he was laid off last year, he thought he’d explore his artistic roots instead. He has tried his hand at many different art forms, but his most recent obsession with pencils is by far his most successful to date. He carves the graphite in the pencils into tiny, perfect sculptures. You can even buy them on Etsy!

He’s also done some really fine photography, though he seems a little obsessed with pears. (Not a joke. Seriously, there’s a pear in almost all of his photos.)
