This one is so beautiful, it gave Beloved and me the flutters! It’s built on the coast of Maine by a former fisherman. Of course. CraftToys.com
I have always been a fan of handmade rocking and ride-on toys, the more creative, the better. I thought today, I’d explore some of the more beautiful and unusual examples. Some of these are so spectacular, they make me want to take up woodworking! All photos include links to the (likely very pricey) item for sale.

my、I know some little ones and not so little ones who would love these, myself included! When I get home in April, I am going to post a picture of the stunning rocking horse my dad made. I absolutely love it!

Very cool and imaginative. I wish I had a baby in my life I could buy that speeder bike for. Of course, I didn’t check out the price so it depends on how much the cost is and how much I adore said baby. My kids actually had a wooden rocking motorbike but we chose to sell it when we emigrated since they had largely outgrown it.

It’s fortunate that you don’t have a baby in your life, because that one’s $724. I know what you mean, though. I’m in real danger of buying the little boat. Do you think it would hold me?

I love the children in my life dearly. I have been sliced and diced giving birth to some of them. But not one of them, not a single one, would have me shelling out $724 for a toy. Cardboard box, scissors and crayons. Same fun.

Exactly! And eventually, they’ll grow up and need that money for something else. Like bail.

The elephant is my favorite–the wood grain is so perfect. My Matthew would have loved the steam shovel one when he was little.

Wow. Some of these are exquisite. I love the gossamer lamb. The metallic purple thingy. And that elephant – oh my!

Also. I’ve got to say: recycling skateboard parts? Way cool. (And: My boys would loooove so many of these.)

Your boys will need jobs on Wall Street to afford them!

These “rock on” toys are amazing. They look like something out of F.A.O. Schwartz in the day.

That’s kind of what they reminded me of, too! I used to go there with my mom every year when I was little, and it clearly left its mark on me.
