In case you were wondering, miniature owls are not a thing. I checked. This is Poldi, who is just very, very small. He’s 1.5 years old, and the pet of super-lucky German photographer Tanja Brandt. His best friend is Brandt’s German Shepherd Ingo. She has other animals, too (including a hawk), but these two are the ones I can’t get enough of.
Brandt plays with focus in exceptionally beautiful ways, and her use of natural light is really masterful. But even with all her mad photography skills, it’s her ability to work with these animals that makes me most jealous. Lucky, lucky, lucky!
Here’s a little theme music to accompany the photos:

In case you haven’t already binged on every baby owl video available, here’s a quick compilation!
And if that’s too much cute for you, here’s ZeFrank to balance it out with a little weirdness.

That is the cutest thing! I want one! I wonder how difficult they’d be to have as a pet? ( if that’s even really possible)
And that video is awesome! That narrator……

When both sets of eyes were staring up at me….I don’t even have the words to describe it. Wow.

Oh heck. Those eyes. All four of them. If that dog and that owl looked at me with those eyes I would give in to their every demand.

Me, too. Maybe I’d better not get an owl.

My kids and I love to dissect owl pellets when we find them. That then could be a side perk to having a pet owl.
