Here are some (estimated) statistics:
- Year I first started obsessing about Etsy: 2010
- Hours per week I spend browsing Etsy: 20
- Hours per week I spend writing Etsomnia: 7
- Average number of Etsy-related posts I write per month: 10
In other words, I’ve spent approximately 7,000 hours on Etsy. Personally, I think that number looks a little low, but I digress.
In all my thousands of hours on Etsy, and in spite of all the stellar Etsy sellers I’ve profiled, I’ve never, ever come across something this fantastic. Are you ready?
Costumes for horses. That’s right. I said Costumes. For. Horses. These are the most adorable things I’ve ever seen, and I now need to go get a horse so I can dress him up.
I was doing research for my ‘Murica Etsomnia post, and when this came up, I thought . . . Well, actually, I thought nothing because I passed out from joy. When I came to, though, I thought, “there can’t be more.” Wrong. There are hundreds of items in this shop, and I lost a very happy hour browsing and going “squee.” This leaves dog and cat costumes in the dust!
Dear Pat Davis of MyBuddyBling,
Take my money, please. I don’t need it. All I require is a never-ending stream of photos of horses in costumes.
Your biggest fan,
Donna
P.S. Have you thought about a bumble bee costume?

People love that stuff….my animals do not. They think they are abused cuz I make them wear their collars. Ruffians!

I have known animals who don’t mind and animals who couldn’t mind more. We attempted to take pictures of our dear departed Maine Coon, Henry VIII, and the resulting skirmish was so hilarious, we ended up sending out a collage of the most awkward photos. He was clearly wishing for our deaths.

Lol. I bet your cat loved showers too! Them are long tailed kitties! I had a mix and her tail went on for miles….

He was a big, lovable giant. As soon as we can have animals again, we’re getting a Maine Coon rescue (and a dog).

Oh my word! Why is this not a bigger thing? Why am I passing fields just full of naked horses? Those poor horses are clearly missing out. I need to show my 9 year old horse mad son this post. I predict he will want one of the sets of fairy wings because he wants a pet unicorn or pegasus – or pegasus-unicorn hybrid. Then, of course, he will want the horse to go with it. No. Somehow I don’t think we can convince our cats o wear fairy wings.

Donna, this is the nicest thing anyone has done for my shop ever. It is hard keeping up with the orders AND making new outfits. The two upstairs bedrooms are over flowing with materials to make more costumes. Finding the time is the biggest obstacle by far. Your encouragement means a lot. Yesterday we had my mom’s memorial service — the hardest day of my life. Today I found your blog, and it was SO NICE to see with everyone’s kind comments. It really means a lot to me! Thank you and thanks to everyone who commented.

That’s so nice to hear! You are really talented, and you deserve encouragement!
I’m so sorry about your mom. I remember the day of my mother’s funeral like it was yesterday. Worst day of my life, too. So glad the post came at a good time. Wishing you and your family better days.

Pat truly deserves all this great recognition! At Christmas she sold over 200 Santa Hats for Horses. Yes I had to buy one for my friend’s Horse! Wonderful, imaginative Shop!

I don’t know. Your stuff looks lovely. Wanted to let you know that when I clicked on the link to your Etsy store on your homepage (between the pictures of the Texas necklace and the tassel necklaces), it took me to your recipes page instead.
Good luck with the shop!
