What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Modern Mobile

I somehow took a wrong turn and stumbled upon these sleek, understated, mid-century modern mobiles in a weird corner of Amazon, and after yesterday’s overload of fussy design, I was instantly captivated. As much as I liked them shown against walls in complimentary colors, they really shine when put against white space. As much as I love vibrant color, they make me long for blank interiors in which to hang them, although they are so clean and appealing, I think they’d almost work almost anywhere.

This week, I’m all about restoring my mental equilibrium, and these lovelies seem like they’d be great to focus your eyes on while relaxing your mind.

I’m going to give it a try!

  1. These are lovely. I especially like the bird ones. I too need to restore my mental equilibrium but I think step one might require me to go cold turkey on broadcast news.

  3. These are very much like Calder (not a bad thing, in my view, but the resemblance is striking).

  4. They are funny to see again after so many years, Donna 🙂
I just came to think, how to create one by myself.

  5. This is such a great collection you’ve found here! As I was scrolling down, I found myself picking a “favourite” but it kept changing as I went along. You’ve really put together a beatiful and calming selection here!
