Secret Wood
A few months ago, I explored the adorable diorama jewelry of Isabell Kiefhaber. Today, diorama jewelry is back, but with a very different mood.
Canadian jeweler Secret Wood combines ordinary materials – wood, resin and beeswax, to be precise – to create mysterious, miniature forests, seascapes, and other fantastical landscapes. They’re so magical-looking, I feel like if you could get close enough, you’d find fairies and mermaids and other wee folk in there…
The modern, beveled ring shapes add to their mystery and appeal, and their $100-$200 price tag keeps them reasonably within reach, especially when you consider that they’re handmade and one-of-a-kind!

I was going to get my love a ring from Caret for Christmas but I think you have found me something much more special.
Cheers

They’re all so intriguing, I feel like I’d spend all my time peering into them looking for fairies!

I did a post a few weeks (months?) back on resin and my fascination with the idea of capturing things inside of it. As soon as we master how to use it, I plan to use it in some of my own work. I love the idea of not being able to touch what’s trapped inside.
