The Glass Menagerie

After all the expense of the holidays (and the extreme prices of some of the more, shall we say established artists I typically profile), I thought it was high time I bring you something attainable and absolutely delightful.

These are the lovable budget-friendly glass figurines by Nikita Drachuk, sold in her Etsy store, MiniatureGlass. I came across her figures while looking for a rat for Beloved (inside joke), and when I spotted this little guy, it was love at first sight! When I realized Drachuk could even make unappealing creatures like rats and scorpions adorable, I knew I needed to share her work with you lovely folks.

  2. I have loved glass miniatures for a long time. When I was wee, my sister and I found a box of them at a jumble sale and handed over a teeny sum of money to take them home with us. Now I am wondering whatever happened to them. These would make cute gifts I think. I cannot believe how affordable they are given the skill involved in creating something so intricate.
