FlorigamiShop
FlorigamiShop sells what they call “origami home decoration, in the spirit of the 19th century cabinet of curiosities.” These beautiful origami sculptures are the work of artist Floriane Touitou from Île-de-France in Paris.
The animals are stylishly presented under a glass bell and come in a number of colors. They can also be customized – you can have your animal of choice created out of printed paper with your words on it. An origami sculpture made of a couple’s wedding vows would make a really exceptional 1-year wedding anniversary gift!
I like that the animals are more implied than literally reproduced, and Touitou’s energetic poses go a long way to communicating the animals’ spirit. I think they’re a great success, and I’m already plotting to give one to a lucky someone as a gift!
Check them out on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

My first thought was of Blade Runner. My second thought was about the skill involved. These are marvelous. I love the geometric quality of the animals and what a great idea to preserve and protect the paper under glass. I’m going to check out the link.
