One of the most entertaining Instagram accounts I’ve seen in quite some time, this is the photography project by American TV show prop master Michael Gump, aka Bobbugs. He covers himself with colorful objects like packing peanuts, razor blades, packing labels, toy hammers, and pizza, to name a few. It started as a 365-day project called Master of Disguise, which Gump began on January 1,2015. At the end of that year, he decided he was having so much fun, he might as well keep going, and he’s been at it ever since.
When asked how far ahead he prepares his disguises, Gump had this to say:
“I keep some notes of ideas that I might want to do, but mainly I just free ball it and do them last minute. I might stop at the store on the way home from work and get something for that night or random things to spark inspiration. The project is intended to be sort of a diary, so I just do it on a one day at a time basis.”
I confess that my daily blog posts are much less spontaneous because I can’t always predict how much time I’ll have. I need to plan them at least a few days ahead of time because after all this time, I’d be crushed if something came up and I missed a day. While my method is a lot less fraught with peril, I’ll bet his way is more fun.
