Artist Jean-Pierre Weill began playing with painting on glass in 1992. He discovered that by painting each element on a different piece of glass, then layering them, he could create wonderful 3D paintings. I am as charmed by his subjects and execution as I am with his technique. Maybe some of that charm has to do with the fact that his daughters, Davida and Safira, are part of the creation process. Jean-Pierre credits the girls with bringing “new ideas and a fresh palette” to his work. The girls are now grown and still working with their father in the family’s studio. What a lovely way to work!
Though some of their larger works sell for $3,000 and up, the Weill family’s mini paintings start at just $79, meaning there’s something for just about any budget.
You can follow Jean Pierre Weill on his website and on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

What a really cool, creative technique. Thanks for including the videos as those helped me appreciate the depth of each piece and the way they work when seen at different angles. I love that he works alongside his daughters.
