Etsom·ni·a (/etˈsämnēə/), noun, 1. a sleep disorder caused by obsessive Etsy browsing. 2. The surprising arrival of weird handmade merchandise ordered when one is only half conscious. (True story.) 3. An excuse for me to be an obnoxious, snarky New Yorker once in a while.
For the last two years, I was unable to kayak because of problems with my knee. The replacement has nearly fully healed, and I’m ready to hit the water again (I hope)! I’m definitely up for the paddling and the sitting, it’s the getting in and out that is still challenging, but I’ll figure it out. Poor Beloved hasn’t been out either because she didn’t want to go without me, so we’re both raring to go.
Did you know they make cat life jackets? Neither did I! Oh, Goosie…. By SurferCatMavPerfect tee by OffYourBackPrintsI am a little phobic about closed kayaks, but I might make an exception in the case of this beauty! By VenturaBoatWorksThis early in the season, a windbreaker is key to being comfortable, and this is one of the best-looking jackets I’ve ever seen. By CheekyMonkeySupplyCoA little off topic, but I deeply adore this stuff… By HallsCandiesStoreI just bought this for myself! By DistinctHeadwearJust love this print! By CultureCrossgThe perfect kayaking outfit! By BerryJaneUSAOur leashes needed replacing, and this one is great! By TheKayakLeashIt’s been so long since I last wore my water shoes, I’m sure they’ve crumbled by now. These are a fantastic option! By OldTribesCA<Swoon> By StrokesideDesignsThis life jacket and towel rack will come in really handy! By ClintonRusticsAnd speaking of towels, these bamboo Turkish towels are crazy absorbent and dry very quickly. By KalkedonTowelsWhile the title is a bit goofy, I do see how using under-kayak lighting at night could be useful, both with enhancing your visibility to other boaters and to attract sea life. It feels so good to be so close to the water and to feel the salt spray on my face (without using fossil fuels to do it). It’s the most peaceful thing I’ve ever done.
I have only ever kayaked a hand full of times and always in fresh water. I hope you can get back out on the water soon. I love the poster and the drying rack in particular.

Kayaking in the bay where we live is soooo peaceful. I’ve really needed that kind of decompression over the last two years. Can not WAIT!
