What if you spent every day looking for One Beautiful Thing?

Emus Against Education

There’s a saying in Hollywood, “Never work with children or animals.” Today’s Beautiful Thing certainly proves the second half of that aphorism to be true. This is the ridiculously-entertaining Knuckle Bump Farms, owned and operated by Taylor Blake (who is most often in front of the camera) and her partner Kristian Haggerty. They describe themselves as “A small hobby farm in South Florida who absolutely despise education and have a thirst for mayhem.”

Though everyone loves the unruly emus (Emmanuel Todd Lopez is a particular favorite), honestly none of the animals behave particularly well. One commenter said “She’s running a critter juvie hall.”

EPILOGUE: I have learned (thank you, Guenevere) that Taylor Blake was internet shamed last year after some of her previous Tweets went viral. Though the Tweets were deleted, she was apparently throwing around the N word and saying demeaning things about persons of color. I decided to leave the post where it is (minus most of my commentary) but take out the links to her social media. I now recommend you not follow the farm, and instead head over to the Canada-based Useless Farm. There, the animal hijinks are just as satisfying, but the humans are better behaved. Amanda, the on-screen personality, seems to be a lovely person, and the internet had nothing bad to say about her, thank heaven. You can follow Useless Farm on their website and on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook.

She has some *very* problematic aspects, sadly–early, extremely racist videos surfaced last year that turned me off.
