Little Big World

I found today’s super cool thing on the Tacky Raccoon blog. Go check them out!

This seemed like an appropriate post for Valentine’s Day because I love this world, and I wish I had the time and the funds to explore it all. These are the completely adorable tilt-shift time-lapse photography videos by Little Big World. They are shot using drones in fascinating locations around the globe, and they rather pointedly seem to be saying we’re not that different and we’re not that important. According to Little Big World, the purpose of these videos is to put things into perspective and capture the beauty of the world, one destination at a time. I find the miniaturization of all these impressive locations to be a great comfort.

Covering 15+ years of work, encompassing 150+ time lapse tilt shift videos, and featuring 50+ countries, Little Big World is the brainchild of German film maker Joerg Daiber. He likes to focus on people doing everyday things in his videos.

“Miniaturizing the world with the tilt-shift effects somehow puts things into the right perspective. People should not take themselves and what they do too seriously”.

You can follow Little Big World on their website and on Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.

These videos are enchanting. The choice of camera and speed really does create a different perspective and I like the implied miniaturization both visually and thematically.
