et·som·ni·a (/etˈsämnēə/), noun, 1. a sleep disorder caused by obsessive Etsy browsing. 2. the surprising arrival of weird handmade merchandise ordered in one’s sleep.

Sunday nights are a challenge for me. I was sleepy all afternoon, but once I finished with dinner, I was wide awake. Couldn’t make myself go to bed. But once again, my (sleep) loss is your gain. I had a really fun conversation last week with a colleague about the television shows I grew up watching, and they’ve been on my mind ever since. Therefore, I bring you Etsomnia™ Volume IV, the Retro TV Edition.

What follows are the best and the worst of the 1960’s and 1970’s TV-themed crap items currently available on Etsy.

As usual, links to the items for sale appear below each picture. For more Etsy fun, check out all my weekly Etsomnia™ posts.

  1. I recently watched a bunch of Facts of Life on YouTube. It still holds up pretty good. I also watched the background story of the cast switch in season 2. It was quite interesting.
I would be lying if I didn’t admit I had a thing for Nancy McKeon (mostly as her Jo character) way back then.

  2. Jealous of your Donnie and Marie case.

  3. I still have my kiddles.
