A Better Mousetrap

Q. What do you get when you combine the following:

  • 1840 ping pong balls
  • 1650 basic household mousetraps
  • Smoke
  • Mirrors
  • Very committed geniuses
  • An Herculean amount of patience
  • An extremely large budget
  • Loads of caffeine

A. You get a chain reaction of epic proportions.

Pepsi Max commissioned London-based art directors and filmmakers HarrimanSteel to “Create something unbelievable” to celebrate 2015. They certainly did meet the challenge, and it’s all in-camera effects. No special effect were added.

“The old adage of never work with animals and children should be extended to mouse traps and ping-pong balls.” -Julian Harriman-Dickinson

If this is any indication, it’s going to be a great year!

And you had to know I was going to hunt around until I found the making-of video, right?

The only problem wit this is, once I start watching this, I start looking for other chain reactions and those machines that start with a rolling ball and do all kinds of things… and then it’s a few hours later.
    Thanks for sharing.
