"The Traveling Suitcase," an art piece which, in spite of its $1,000 price tag, is not for sale. By AlizarinArts who may not actually understand what Etsy is for

“The Traveling Suitcase,” an art piece which, in spite of its $1,000 price tag, is not for sale. The artist may have missed the point of Etsy

Et·som·ni·a (/etˈsämnēə/), noun, 1. a sleep disorder caused by obsessive Etsy browsing. 2. the surprising arrival of weird handmade merchandise ordered when one is only half conscious. (True story.)

We are travelling next week, so I’ve been thinking a great deal about travel accessories. Etsy turned up some real beauties, including suitcases, toiletry bags, luggage tags, neck pillows, and all the usual stuff you’d potentially need for a trip. And, of course, in true Etsy style, my searches turned up some wonderfully weird and wacky stuff as well.

As usual, links to the items for sale appear below each picture. For more Etsy fun, check out all my weekly Etsomnia™ posts.

Don't be fooled. Babies may be travel-sized, but they're still a misery to travel with. Photo prop by CreaTiveDesiGns4

You might want to poke a hole or two before checking the suitcase. I’d also recommend doubling up on the diaper.

  1. My parents still have a steamer trunk that belonged to my Great-Gran and which crossed back and forth across the Atlantic with her. They also have a travel clock almost identical to the one you listed that belonged to my Gran. Thankfully they don’t have a weird pig head, a dog papoose or a travel hula hoop – and how is that even a thing?

I am squirreling away those Star Wars posters as potential Father’s Day presents for my SW nut husband from his SW nut kids. Thanks for that.
