Etsom·ni·a (/etˈsämnēə/), noun, 1. a sleep disorder caused by obsessive Etsy browsing. 2. The surprising arrival of weird handmade merchandise ordered when one is only half conscious. (True story.) 3. An excuse for me to be an obnoxious, snarky New Yorker once per week.
Although it’s just for a few days, Beloved and I are getting away for a mini-vacation! I’ve been working my tail off, and I’m really excited. So I thought this week’s theme should be vacation-related items. Yay, vacation!
For more Etsy fun, check out all my weekly Etsomnia™ posts!
For me, vacations are about simplifying and streamlining the more domestic and everyday things like clothing so that I can focus on all of the new things we are seeing and experiencing. Some of these Etsy sellers need to be reminded of that “less is more” maxim.
My oldest son needs that t-shirt. He starts complaining about family vacations even when we are at the planning stage.
Since an early age, I have been fascinated with feet. Don’t ask me why but I have been. Guess it started in art class. One model today appears to only have four toes. I am barefoot 90% of the time in the house and a lot outdoors also. I still could five toes. Wild guess her ‘baby toe” never grew much and is hiding back there somewhere. She is in two posts today. I am on vacation 365 days a year and have been for over ten years. Love it. Hal
I didn’t notice the toe thing until you pointed it out. I am generally appalled by feet. I would prefer never to see them. I spend summers looking up, just in case of feet.
I’m so happy for you that you’re taking a break! My husband were going to take a little trek to a place nearby to go hiking, and actually we were leaving today…but I tore my meniscus and will have to have surgery in a month and in the meantime I can’t even drive and am getting gardening done mostly by scooching around on my butt, which is actually kind of fun and I manage to get a little bit done but it takes quite a while. I’m trying to think positive thoughts and hopefully the surgery will go well and the recovery time won’t be too long and I’ll be able to do fun stuff while the weather is still warm and maybe we’ll be able to get away for a bit…
So sorry about your injury! A close friend had that, and it was terrible. She lives in a walk up, so she had to stay with stair-free friends until she recovered. Wishing you a good surgery and speedy recovery!

“Some of these Etsy sellers need to be reminded of that “less is more” maxim.” This is pretty much the underlying message of every Etsomnia!

That mirrored bathing suit….imagine laying on the beach with the sun both reflecting off you and burning you to bits. It hurts already.

So many “nopes” in this post, I hardly know where to begin. So I’ll just say “have fun and relax!!!”
