9/26/15: In January of 2015, I posted about the wood and resin jewelry of Marcel Dunger. His work was a badass combination of hard edges, of rough, broken wood and smooth resin. I am pleased to report I’ve found his female counterpart. This is the beautiful work of 25-year-old Melbourne-based maker Britta Boeckmann, who works with the same materials, but whose work is all about the seamless marriage of these materials. She is the Yin to Marcel Dunger’s Yang.

“I don’t believe in rulers and templates, so each piece is totally unique. The process of making them varies slightly from piece to piece but involves the delicate process of making moulds, casting resin and wood and gently sanding the pieces into their unique shapes and then finally varnishing or oiling the jewellery. Each individual piece has been made with a great deal of love.” Britta Boeckmann’s Facebook page

In addition to her lovely jewelry, Boeckmann has designed such varied and innovative items as a travel walker, mid-century modern-themed seating, and a super cute portable radio that looks like it’s made of space-age Swiss cheese. I think we can expect wonderful things from this young lady.

You can purchase Britta Boeckmann’s lovely pieces in her BoldB Etsy shop.
